Powder Coated Wood Manufacturer Builds Facilities for Training New Garage Cabinet Dealers

In the summer of 2012, RedLine Garagegear set out on an ambitious do-it-yourself project. Their desire was to create a space that would be functional and comfortable for the two day training session all new agents are required to attend, while also showing a full storage system being used in a garage setting.

RedLine Garagegear president, Troy Greenberg, designed a two story building that would serve as a functioning garage on the first floor and a classroom up above on the second floor. Troy did a large portion of the build himself and brought in independent contractors for the more tedious parts of the project.

One of our main goals with having new agents travel to our facilities here in South Beloit, IL is to give them a true sense of the quality of our products, said RedLine Garagegear National Director of Sales and Research, Bill Garrity. We thought it imperative to show agents how a complete system looks and holds up in a garage that is being used regularly.

RedLine Garagegear is the child company of Greenberg Casework Company Inc. For nearly thirty years, Greenberg Casework Company has been manufacturing custom cabinetry and casework. The companys work has been installed in schools, hospitals, department/retail stores, and large housing projects all over the United States. Another child company, GCC Coatings, is the manufacturers powder coating arm.

RedLine Garagegear sells its powder coated wood garage cabinets to homeowners in over 60 locations throughout North America through their network of certified agents. In areas where no dealer is available, the manufacturer sells direct to consumers.

Since its inception nearly a decade ago, RedLine Garagegear has been actively recruiting business owners to become a part of their agent network. In that time over one hundred representatives from businesses in the United States and Canada have learned standard operating procedures at the companys former training center just under a mile away from their manufacturing plant.

In roughly six months, the new training center was operational and ready to host RedLine Garagegears first training class of 2013. Nine individuals representing six businesses from five states and one province in the U.S. and Canada came together during those two days to get experience with the 3D design software, tour the manufacturing facilities, and see firsthand the garage cabinets and storage systems RedLine Garagegear produces.

We have known for some time that new RedLine dealers wanted to see a system being used in a functioning garage so I think this was a great move for us, said Troy. The time had come for us to update our training center and all the pieces just happened to come together at the right time.

Both Troy and Bill believe future dealers will greatly benefit from the move. With over 500 cabinet choices, RedLine truly does offer a place for everything. Troy and Bill stressed the need for agents to see what sort of things can be fit into a custom storage system so they can better advise customers when incorporating the various garage cabinets offered into a design.

RedLine Garagegear is always looking for established business owners to add to their growing agent network. Interested groups or individuals should check out their website today for more information on dealer opportunities.
