Lettingweb addresses need for Edinburgh student accommodation

Another year of University League tables has seen Edinburgh once again perform well, with two institutions inside the Guardians Top 20 in the UK. That means that, once again, the capital will see a massive influx of students looking for places to stay.

Edinburghs major colleges: the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh Napier, and the Edinburgh College of Art are all home to 1000s of students. And after their first year (or before, especially for those that have arrived via clearing) the majority of students will leave halls and enter the Private Rental market for the first time.

Whilst Universities try to help students as much as they can, the time has come for the private rental sector to provide a service that is specific to students. With information, features and properties that are suited to them; Lettingwebs Student Hub is addressing that need directly.

It features:
  • Pages devoted to accommodation specific to the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh Napier University.
  • Information on Marchmont, Bruntsfield, Newington and all the other areas popular amongst Edinburghs students.
  • A student hub with useful advice and a Flatmate Ad board based on Twitter, find or advertise spare accommodation using #flatmate ads.

The best way to keep the content fresh and relevant to Ediburghs student populace is for everyone to get involved so Lettingweb are inviting Universities and charities with insight to contribute any information or ideas that they may have.

Steve Tigar, Lettingwebs Managing Director, commented:

Edinburgh is Lettingwebs home town, and a lot of our staff came through its various universities. They all helped to create a service that is informed and developed with Edinburghs students in mind, and they are all passionate about it growing into something thats really useful. Helping to make letting better in Scotland is our goal and I feel that this is a great way of achieving that.
