CSU Institute for Palliative Care Brings on Education Program Expert

The CSU Institute for Palliative Care is pleased to announce that Nicole Orsini has joined its team as Education Program Administrator. In her new role, Orsini will oversee the development and implementation of the Institutes educational programs.

As Director of Education & Youth Programs at Cal State San Marcos Extended Learning for nearly six years, Orsini is an accomplished educational professional with a history of advancing professional credit and non-credit programs in education and related fields, as well as experience in community outreach and special events. She has a Bachelors degree in Communications and Media Management from San Diego State University and a Masters degree in Education from CSUSM.

Nicole understands what it takes to create and manage successful educational programs, said Institute Executive Director Helen McNeal. She will be a great asset in helping the Institute create its replicable educational model and address the critical shortage of nursing, social work, spiritual and other professionals with palliative care skills and training.

About the CSU Institute for Palliative Care

Launched in September 2012 by the largest higher-education system in the U.S., the CSU Institute for Palliative Care is Americas first statewide educational and workforce development initiative dedicated to palliative care. The Institute offers academic and continuing education courses designed to enhance the skills of current and future health care professionals, as well as programs to build palliative care awareness in the community. Courses offered initially at the Cal State San Marcos campus will be part of a model for palliative care workforce development and community awareness that will be available to other interested campuses in California and beyond.
